Before you start

The honest fine print.

This is a serverful product: an installation needs Postgres, OpenAI, and a Meta app configured for Threads. If someone else runs the installation for you, they handle those details.

What does “free while in beta” include?

Every feature currently in Comment Cop. There are no paid tiers, usage gates, or locked moderation controls in the beta.

Do account holders need their own OpenAI key?

No. The person or team operating the Comment Cop installation configures one deployment-level OpenAI key and the Meta app credentials. Individual account holders only authorize their Threads account.

Does Comment Cop delete replies?

No. A hide uses Threads’ visibility controls and can be reversed from the Queue. Marking a false positive also restores the reply and records the correction.

Where is reply data stored?

Reply text, author, decision evidence, and timestamps live in the installation’s Postgres database. Eligible text is sent to OpenAI for moderation, and visibility actions go through Meta’s Threads API.
